A Note to Purple PTSD’s Readers

purple ptsd readers

Valued Purple PTSD reader, this post is for you.

As I’m sure many of you know, Joe Johnson started this site back in 2015. My understanding is that things were pretty modest back then. Over the years, Joe put in a ton of work, building up Purple PTSD into one of the leading Vikings websites. Folks, believe me when I say that it’s no small feat to turn a site that gets a mere handful of readers into one that gets hundreds of thousands of readers per month.

I’m also sure that many of you know he passed away recently. Since that time, the company has been run by Joe’s family. I have taken the lead as the managing editor at Purple PTSD and Dustin Baker is the lead over at Vikings Territory. I think I can speak on behalf of myself, Dustin, the writers, and Joe’s family when I say that we appreciate all the support we get from the readers.

As we move ahead with the sites, the plan is continue offering great coverage of your Minnesota Vikings. We encourage you to follow the official twitter accounts of both Purple PTSD as well as Vikings Territory. If you feel so inclined, you can also follow Dustin and myself (as well as Purple PTSD writers like Josh Frey, Cole Smith, and Henrique Gucciardi). Collectively, we’ll be keeping you up to date on all things Vikings.

This week, we’ve offered posts about Vikings memes, how the Vikes are somehow in a playoff spot, Kirk’s growing clutch factor, commentary on Osborn’s Diggs tribute, some trade candidates who may help replace Patrick Peterson, some unexpected Vikings stats, how the Vikes can improve following the bye, reaction to a way-too-early PFF mock draft, and a Vikings haiku competition (among several other pieces). We also launched the Purple Tirade, a monthly competition that will allow our readers to submit writing for publication on our site. We’re hoping for some great responses from our readers!

Of course, we think it’d be great if you make Purple PTSD (and VT!) your go-to spot for Vikings coverage. Our intention is continue offering unique, engaging, thoughtful coverage of everyone’s favorite purple team. The games may be stressful and the outcomes disappointing, but we’ll be there step-for-step. So, feel free to set us as your home page, check back regularly, and share our content. When our site thrives, we’re in a better position to keep offering great Vikings coverage.

Skol.
