The Vikings rookies officially reported to training camp on Sunday, meaning camp is finally getting underway this week after months of speculation as to how this year’s Vikings roster will shape out.

Minnesota selected six players in the 2023 NFL Draft, a class that included WR Jordan Addison, CB Mekhi Blackmon, DB Jay Ward, DT Jaquelin Roy, QB Jaren Hall, and RB DeWayne McBride.

The Vikings also signed a total of 15 undrafted free agents following the conclusion of the draft. The headliners of this UDFA class are LBs Andre Carter and Ivan Pace, who many expect to make the final roster when camp concludes.

The next headline of the week also features a Vikings rookie, but this time for much more unfortunate reasons. Just days before the start of camp, Minnesota’s top draft pick, WR Jordan Addison, was charged with reckless driving early Thursday morning.

This was initially reported by SI.com’s Bill Enright, who tweeted on Thursday, “Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison was charged with reckless driving last night. Was doing 140 MPH in his Lambo. Source: Minnesota State Patrol.”

The Vikings responded that they are “aware of the situation” and “are gathering more information”. There is no indication as to whether or not the charge will impact Addison’s early participation in training camp.
