The Full Vikings Depth Chart as Training Camp Arrives

NFL: Minnesota Vikings Training Camp

At long last, training camp.

Over the coming days and weeks, the Vikings depth chart is going to experience a lot of change. Some of that will be due to player additions and subtractions. For the most part, though, the shuffling up and down the depth chart will flow from players impressing the coaching staff (or not) during practice and the preseason games. A climactic moment will occur when the cuts take place at the end of August, an event that will radically reshape the depth chart.

At a lot of spots, there is crystal-clear certainty. Kirk Cousins will be the QB1 and the team is a near-lock to carry a pair of backup quarterbacks into the season. Justin Jefferson will maintain his featured role and basically the entire offensive line returns. Dalvin Cook is no longer in town, so the RB spot does present some uncertainty for the first time in a long time.

Defensively, things open up a bit more, at least when it comes to debates about where people can slot into the roster. To be sure, we have some certainty about Harrison Phillips at DT, Marcus Davenport at EDGE, Jordan Hicks at LB, Byron Murphy at CB, and Harrison Smith at S. What of the other players at those positions, though? Someone like Jaquelin Roy, Andre Carter II (believe the hype, says our own Josh Frey), William Kwenkeu at LB, Joejuan Williams at CB, and even Camryn Bynum at S?

Much to be determined, that’s for sure.

Spots like the Vikings’ website, PFR, and several other places can give their own insights and info about Minnesota’s roster and depth chart. Below, you’ll find my educated guess for where things stand as of the beginning of Vikings training camp.
