Every year, football fans look forward to the release of the newest edition of the Madden video game series from EA Sports. People get excited to see the overalls of their favorite players and the chance to play with their teams’ newest acquisitions on the field after months of hype.

Well, EA has begun announcing the players that will join the ’99 Club’ this year, meaning he is a 99 overall player, the highest rating in the game. The company announced that Jefferson would be a 99 in this year’s game in a tweet captioned, “The Best in the Game”.

There certainly is an argument that Jefferson is the best receiver in the game heading into his fourth NFL season. The Vikings benefited from him hauling in 128 catches for 1809 yards and 8 touchdowns last season, recording the most receptions and receiving yards in the entire league. He was the youngest in NFL history to pull off the feat, and it earned him the honor of Offensive Player of the Year.

Over the first three seasons of Jefferson’s career, the individual accolades have begun to pile up. His greatness on the football field cannot be denied. Hopefully, in 2023 and beyond, it helps lead to more Vikings team success as well, building off their 13-4 season from last year.
