Purple Headlines of the Week: Hunter Hold Out, Kirk Cousins’ Netflix Stardom, a Rising Star in Minnesota

The Minnesota Vikings are now on their summer break, but before that happened, they went through their mandatory minicamp this past week. Here are all the purple headlines from the week of action.
Danielle Hunter Holds Out of Minicamp

It’s the news everyone is buzzing about right now. Danielle Hunter held out of minicamp this week as he continues to search for a new contract. The Vikings are also apparently fielding trade calls for the pass rusher, so if a new contract isn’t agreed upon soon, that may be a front to keep an eye on as well.
Hunter is due just $5.5 million in 2023, so it makes sense that a player of his age and talent would desire more for his services. Hopefully a new deal gets worked out soon.
Kirk Cousins Is a Netflix Star

If you haven’t already heard about the upcoming Netflix series “Quarterback”, yes it’s true, Kirk Cousins is going to be a TV star. The series is set to cover the life of QBs across the league, including Patrick Mahomes and Cousins.
This week, a promo trailer for the series dropped, so the series is back in headlines once again. It will debut on July 12th, so in a couple weeks, we will get an in-depth look at the life of the Vikings QB.
Jordan Addison Named a “Rising Star”

This week, the NFLPA released their list of 10 rookies that they consider “rising stars” in the league. Among the list of players is Vikings receiver Jordan Addison, who the team selected in the first round this spring.
Addison was a prolific player during his collegiate career, and by joining a Vikings passing offense that was one of the best in the league last year, he should find some immediate success.
