Vikings WR Jordan Addison’s Bank Account Got Some Good News Recently

Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison is entering a very pivotal year of his NFL career. In late-April, the Vikings decided to pick up Addison’s fifth-year option, securing him in the Twin Cities through at least the 2027 season.
Now, it’s up to the Vikings if they want to extend him. The extension would likely come next offseason, as Addison’s camp may not want anything signed until some other receivers get paid. We’ve seen Drake London and Christian Watson get major pay days in the past few days alone, and Addison is right in line with that level of wide receiver.
London received a 4-year/$141 million contract extension with $100 million in guaranteed money, and can come up to a total value of over $150 million through incentives. Watson signed a 4-year/$110.5 million extension with a $31 million signing bonus. His deal averages out to $27.6 million per season, before any manipulation is done to the contract.
As far as Jordan Addison’s camp might see things, the dollar signs keep multiplying.
Vikings’ Price for Jordan Addison May Be Trending Up

If you were to ask me, I’d say Jordan Addison is a better, more polished receiver than Christian Watson. However, he’s probably not quite on the tier of a Drake London. If you apply that logic to his extension coming down the pipe, that would put his number somewhere between $27 million and $35 million.
If the Vikings are serious about having Addison in the fold long-term, they might want to strike soon. Watson’s contract was arguably based on projection, as he’s never played a full season or even eclipsed 700 receiving yards in a single season. However, when he is on the field, he has shown some special ability, as well as some major inconsistency. When Addison is on the field, he’s been much more consistent.
Addison is a bit more comparable to London purely from a production standpoint. He’s technically never had a 1,000+ yard season, but his numbers aren’t as consistently-low as Watson’s on a year-to-year basis. If you take his numbers into account in conjunction with some projection, then the Vikings are likely looking at a contract that exceeds $30 million in AAV for Addison. In tandem with Justin Jefferson, that would make two Vikings WRs getting over $30 million a year.
We’ve already discussed that new Vikings GM Nolan Teasley and the possibilities of him wanting to trade Addison, and the money reasons just got some more backing.
Jordan Addison Speaks on Kyler Murray, J.J. McCarthy, and Vikings’ 2026 QB Competition

Jordan Addison answered a couple of quick questions after the conclusion of the Vikings’ Thursday OTAs at TCO Performance Center. He was asked if it was “fun” working with different QBs.
“I just feel like this job as it is is fun, you know. Just coming out here and being with all the guys, you know, Kyler Murray, McCarthy, it’s just fun being out here. We’re all trying to get better, we’re all working towards something.”
Addison was then asked what he’s learned about being a pro this offseason so far.
“I’d say you gotta stay on top of your game. There’s always somebody out there working, and you just gotta keep working to get what you want.”
Jordan Addison surely knows what he is working towards. If he plays his cards right, the former USC and Pitt receiver could be in for a payday that would provide generational wealth for his family. Addison also likely understands that he isn’t just auditioning for a second contract with the Vikings. Rather, he’s auditioning for any team that would be willing to pay him a major contract.
