A Trio of NFL Free Agents in the Minnesota Vikings’ Orbit

The Minnesota Vikings appear very happy to keep keep its most portion of cap space unused, at least for now. Full steam ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft, the team’s front office is saying without words.
Afterwards, interest in the NFL free agents is going to regain new significance. Indeed, the Vikings look to be committed toward preserving their compensatory pick for 2027. Waiting until after the draft means not needing to forfeit the hard-earned comp pick. Consider players who has some connections to the Vikings who could realistically end up being added.
3 NFL Free Agents to Watch for the Vikings
WR DeAndre Hopkins <—> Kyler Murray in Arizona

How can we know that Hopkins is actually a candidate for the Vikings? Well, there’s always uncertainty, but it does matter that the man himself has articulated interest in joining the Vikings.
At 33, the veteran isn’t the player that he used to be. He is, nevertheless, someone with great size (6’1″ and 210), compete, and talent. As a WR3 or WR4, the Vikings could do far worse. The built-in chemistry with Murray is a bonus. So, too, is the basic reality that everybody on Minnesota’s roster will respect him.
CB L’Jarius Sneed <—> Online Dot Connecting

As things stand, the Vikings’ corner crew looks solid but unspectacular. What’s majorly needed is a promising young fella to get into the pipeline for both today and tomorrow.
As a result, the Sneed proposal isn’t perfect.
Nevertheless, the Vikings have shown a willingness to take a gamble on high-end talent that has fallen on tough times (Jeff Okudah, Jerry Tillery, and so on). Sneed has good size and has a past of shining in a defense that moved him around while asking him to be aggressive. The money has to be modest. Provided it is, then Minnesota could do worse.
DT Christian Wilkins <—> Brian Flores in Miami

Prior to flopping in Las Vegas, Christian Wilkins was terrorizing offensive linemen in Miami (quarterbacks, too). Minnesota made an effort to bring him aboard in 2024 but got outbid.
The word from Adam Schefter is that close to every team in the NFL is interested. At the end of March, Schefter said, “Free-agent DT Christian Wilkins fully intends to play this season, but still is rehabbing his foot injury, per his agent David Mulugheta. So far 26 teams have reached out and are waiting for Wilkins to be ready, and Wilkins is expected to have a new home as soon as he wants.”
Minnesota is rallying around Jalen Redmond. Doing so is the correct decision after the young fella has shown so much promise. What may yet be needed is an elder statesman to solidify the floor along the d-line since so many of the supporting talents — Levi Drake Rodriguez, Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, Elijah Williams, and others — are youthful. Wilkins on a single-season prove-it deal isn’t without some upside.
Christian Wilkins is 30.
