The Minnesota Vikings have needs at a number of different positions.

Throughout his years as the Vikings’ GM, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has been known for swinging trades to help fill needs on the roster, and it should be assumed that this will continue in 2024. Here is a look at three players Adofo-Mensah could look to acquire via trade this offseason.

EDGE Haason Reddick

As of now, the Vikings roster has virtually no pass rushing presence. It will certainly improve if they can re-sign Danielle Hunter and perhaps bring back D.J. Wonnum, but the Vikings should try to find another consistent option this offseason.

Of course, the draft would be a viable option for this, but an intriguing option recently opened up on the trade market as well. On Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network tweeted the following, “Sources: #Eagles All-Pro edge rusher Haason Reddick has received permission to seek a trade following another disruptive season featuring double digit sacks. The 29-year old with 27 sacks over two seasons in Philly could land elsewhere.”

The 29-year-old defender has spent seven seasons in the NFL after being selected with the 13th overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals back in 2017. After largely being a rotational player through his first three seasons (starting only 20 total games and recording 7.5 sacks), Reddick burst onto the scene in 2020 with 15 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, and six forced fumbles.

In all, Reddick has recorded double-digit sack number during each of the past four seasons and has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his two seasons with the Eagles. He would be stable pass rushing option for the Vikings alongside Hunter.

WR Terrace Marshall

The Vikings are in need of some extra depth at the wide receiver position with both K.J. Osborn and Brandon Powell hitting the free agency market in March. Perhaps one way to land that wide receiver would be by attempting to rejuvenate the career of Terrace Marshall.

Marshall was a second-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2021, but he has not lived up to that status throughout his first three NFL seasons. After catching just 17 passes for 138 yards during his rookie season, it seemed like the receiver was taking a step forward in 2022. He caught 28 passes for 490 yards and a touchdown during that season, but injuries got the better of Marshall in 2023 as he appeared in just nine games.

It certainly wouldn’t take a ton in order to acquire the receiver based on his role in Carolina over the past few years, and perhaps a reunion with his former LSU teammate, Justin Jefferson, could be exactly what Marshall needs to find success in the NFL. During their final collegiate season together in 2019, Marshall totaled 46 receptions for 671 yards and 13 TDs.

DT Davon Godchaux

The Vikings lack a true nose tackle presence on their defensive line right now. At 6’3″ and 330 pounds, Davon Godchaux could be a perfect fit in Brian Flores’ defense. Part of the reason for this belief is that we’ve seen it work before.

Godchaux spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons with the Miami Dolphins while Flores was the head coach there. While he played just five games in 2020, Godchaux’s 2019 season with Flores was a fabulous year for the nose tackle. He recorded 75 tackles, four tackles for loss, a pair of sacks, and a pass defense during that season.

As of now, the Vikings have just Dean Lowry, Harrison Phillips, and Jaquelin Roy under contract for the 2024 season. They need to beef up that room this offseason, and Godchaux could be a plug-and-play starter for them next season.
