Injury Report Week 1 ‒ Vikings at Giants

If you’re unsure whether a player will be healthy or not, I’m here to help you. Whether it is to help you set up your fantasy team or freak out because someone was limited at practice, this injury report will give you everything you need to know injury-wise. As we are a Minnesota Vikings-dedicated website, I’ll talk about who could replace an injured Vikings player or how it will be done.

For example, if Jordan Addison’s ankle injury was a little more severe and he couldn’t play Sunday, how could coach O’Connell replace him? Sometimes, you can just elevate the next man up, and in this case, Jalen Nailor would take on WR2 duties. But depending on the situation, like a Jerry Tillery absence, it’s not that simple. The Vikings don’t have another pass-rushing defensive tackle, so Brian Flores would have to be creative.
Before going to both teams’ injury reports, a reminder that TE T.J. Hockenson (PUP), OG Dalton Risner, and OLB Gabriel Murphy (IR) aren’t eligible to return until after Week 4.
New York Giants Injuries

The G-Men have a few players battling through injuries. Safety Dane Belton (back), quarterback Drew Lock (abdomen), linebacker Micah McFadden (groin), and wide receiver Gunner Olszewski (groin) were limited the whole week. Linebacker Brian Burns picked up an ankle injury and was limited Friday.
Brian Daboll didn’t disclose any game status, but none of the players has been given a questionable tag, and the entire roster is good to go.
Minnesota Vikings Injuries
Just like their opponents, the Vikings are going into the game healthy. I mean, apart from the two players on IR, Hockenson on the PUP list, and J.J. McCarthy and Mekhi Blackmon lost for the season. Anyway, the team will have every player on the 53-man roster at their disposal.

Both Jordan Addison and Jalen Nailor had been dealing with ankle injuries and were limited on Wednesday and Thursday but practiced fully on Friday, making them a go. Veterans Stephon Gilmore and Harrison Smith had scheduled rest days on Friday, but they are clear to play as well.
No player has drawn an injury designation.
In the rematch of the playoff loss in January 2023, the Vikings are slight favorites over the New York Giants despite playing on the road. It will also be a matchup between two shaky quarterback options, both formerly drafted in the top ten of their respective classes. Having Addison available is crucial for Sam Darnold’s outlook.
