Week 6 of the college football season is upon us.

The Minnesota Vikings finally began digging themselves out of their early-season hole with a 21-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers last Sunday, and now, they have a home matchup against the defending champs that could either turn around the entire season or dig them further into the depths of the NFL.

Some fans may already be looking towards the future given the tough schedule ahead, so with that, here is a look at four more potential 2024 NFL Draft prospects that will play on Saturday at the college level.

Missouri CB Kris Abrams-Draine

Kris Abrams-Draine reminds me a lot of Mekhi Blackmon. He’s a very aggressive cornerback in man coverage and utilizes some great speed and length to hang with some of the better wide receivers in the SEC. He is a bit of a lanky CB at just 178 pounds but makes up for it with a bulldog mentality in the secondary.

So far in 2023, Abrams-Draine is having a career year for the Missouri Tigers with 23 tackles, a tackle for loss, 6 passes defended, and 3 interceptions to his name. This weekend, the program has a huge game against LSU.

Michigan EDGE Kris Jenkins

Michigan defensive lineman Kris Jenkins (94) celebrates a sack against UNLV quarterback Doug Brumfield (2) during the first half at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023.

Kris Jenkins has the ability to line up all over the defensive line because of his size and speed. He is 6’3″ and weighs in at 285 pounds; the guy is a tank. If the Vikings don’t take a first-round QB, they should seriously consider beefing up their defensive front.

The Michigan pass-rusher has an incredible motor and rarely has a play where he isn’t going all-out to make a play. So far in 2023, Jenkins has put together 14 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and a sack. This weekend, Michigan takes on Minnesota, and he should wreak havoc on the Gophers’ offensive line.

Syracuse WR Oronde Gadsden

K.J. Osborn is entering free agency at the end of the 2023 season, so the Vikings could look for another young receiver in the draft to replace him. Enter Syracuse WR Oronde Gadsden. He is one of the few Syracuse players that could eye the 2024 NFL Draft, but it is for good reason.

Gadsden is a massive target at 6’5″ and 216 pounds, creating problems for smaller cornerbacks as they try to cover him. Even with that size, he has surprising speed off the line of scrimmage, with the potential to test in the low-4.5s or even high-4.4s at the combine. This weekend, the Orange will take on North Carolina.

Notre Dame QB Sam Hartman

And again, we have another QB on the list for this weekend. Sam Hartman looked like an early season Heisman favorite until tough games against Ohio State and Duke in the past two weeks. This week, he needs to get back on track as Notre Dame takes on Louisville.

Hartman is one of the most experienced quarterbacks in all of college football, with this being his sixth season at the level. So far in 2023, he has thrown for 1458 yards, 14 TDs, and no interceptions through six games.
