Vikings Podcast: Schedule Drop, Dread, & Discussion
We’re back, folks, with a second podcast episode in the same week (take a look at the first one). The schedule is officially here, so Sizzlin’ Sam and I respond accordingly. On the latest episode of Notes from the North – a humble Vikings podcast – we discuss the schedule drop and some dreaded opponents.
Take a peak at what Sizzlin’ Sam had to say: “We’re back for a double episode week, talking about the schedule release and how the Vikings shape up this year. They talk about overall trends, bye week placement, and prime time games.”
As we discuss (and Josh Frey, too), the opening 8 games are going to tell us a ton about the current iteration of the Vikings. Yes, the opening Bucs game isn’t too intimidating, but the matchups with the Eagles, Chiefs, and 49ers look daunting. When partnered with the late-season Bengals game, those opponents will go a long way in determining whether we think the Vikings are for real.
Seeing the Lions so late in the schedule is a bit of a disappointment. From our current vantage point, Minnesota and Detroit are the top contenders for the NFC North. They’ll take on each other in Week 16 and 18. The NFL wants to see if these teams can decide the North in those final games.
Folks who are into Vikings podcasts or think they’d like to get into Vikings podcasts should feel free to give Notes from the North a shot. Hop over to iTunes, Spotify, or Podbean. My understanding is that you don’t need an account at these spots. Just press play and enjoy the pod.
Enjoy the listening, Vikings fan.
