Vikings Podcast: The Most Interesting Game of the Year Is…

Perhaps the foremost news of the week is that the NFL’s schedule release is set to come out. Sizzlin’ Sam and I decided to respond accordingly. On the latest episode of Notes from the North – a humble Vikings podcast – we debate the challenges of the schedule and games we’re most interested in seeing.

Take a look at what Sizzlin’ Sam had to say: “Kyle and Sam are back to preview the schedule ahead of the schedule release. The guys discuss the games ahead, and guess what the record will be against the NFC North, as well as which is the game they are most interested in. They wrap up with some hockey talk, discussing parallels between the Vikings and Toronto Maple Leafs.”

We already know who the team will be playing. In fact, we even know who the 9 road opponents and the 8 home opponents will be. What we don’t know is when the games will occur. Therein lies the intrigue, folks.

Personally, I’m most looking forward to seeing the first game against the Lions. If the expected occurs, Detroit will be a competitive team in 2023. Many think they’ll be capable of snagging the NFC North. Pulling off a decisive victory over the Kardiac Kitties would be a boost to everyone’s confidence in Minnesota.

Toward the end, we spend some time talking about the Toronto Maple Leafs and the NHL playoffs. After a great opening-round win – their first in nearly two decades – the Leafs have fallen behind 3-0 to the Florida Panthers. What kind of parallels are there between Sizzlin’ Sam’s favorite hockey team and the Vikings (a football team with no shortage of foibles and heartbreak)?

Folks who are into Vikings podcasts or think they’d like to get into Vikings podcasts should feel free to give Notes from the North a shot. Hop over to iTunes, Spotify, or Podbean. My understanding is that you don’t need an account at these spots. Just press play and enjoy the pod.

Enjoy the listening, Vikings fan.
