Vikings Podcast: Post-Draft Concern, Applause, and Intrigue
Like the rest of the NFL world, Sizzlin’ Sam and I were fascinated by the NFL Draft. We thus respond in the latest episode of Notes from the North – a humble Vikings podcast – with some NFL Draft analysis.
Take a peak at what Sizzlin’ Sam had to say: “Kyle and Sam break down how the Vikings fared in the 2023 NFL draft, discussing both the optimism and hesitations present. They examined what appeared to be the focus for the team, what continue to be needs for the team, and the intrigue in Jaren Hall. They wrap up with some NHL playoff talk.”
For the most part, I tend to bring the more pessimistic view on the podcast. My concern rests in some of the current deficiencies on defense. Has there been enough emphasis on corner, linebacker, and the defensive line? The team is really hoping Brian Flores gets more out of this group.
On offense, there is the potential for great success. Adding Jordan Addison gives Kevin O’Connell another offensive weapon to work with. In so doing, the HC should feel like a kid in a candy store. He has the personnel to be truly unpredictable and can find success emphasizing both the run and pass.
The Jaren Hall selection seems like a good one, especially in the 5th. The BYU QB may only be a QB2 in his career, but that’s still a successful result given where he was chosen. Minnesota will welcome the competition in the QB room.
Folks who are into Vikings podcasts or think they’d like to get into Vikings podcasts should feel free to give Notes from the North a shot. Hop over to iTunes, Spotify, or Podbean. My understanding is that you don’t need an account at these spots. Just press play and enjoy the pod.
Enjoy the listening, Vikings fan.
