Vikings Elevate Veteran WR from Practice Squad for Week 5

The Minnesota Vikings are set to play host to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5 of the NFL season.
Minnesota finally got their first win of the season in Week 4 by defeating the Carolina Panthers on the road 21-13. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have won three games in a row coming into this weekend following their Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions.
Ahead of this weekend’s game, the Vikings have decided to bring up some extra veteran WR help once again by elevating N’Keal Harry from the practice squad.

Minnesota announced the move by tweeting, “The #Vikings have elevated WR N’Keal Harry to the active roster for tomorrow’s game.”
Harry was also elevated to the active roster in Week 4, but he did not see any snaps with the offense as the Vikings largely relied on their running game following an iffy first half throwing the ball.
Still, it makes sense that the Vikings would bring in some extra receiving help for Sunday considering they have only Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, K.J. Osborn, and Brandon Powell at the position on their 53-man roster. Typically, Jalen Nailor would also be there, but he has been on IR.

Harry was signed by the Vikings this summer to help provide some competition at the position throughout training camp. He had a strong camp with the Vikings and made an appearance in one preseason game.
In the preseason opener, Harry caught two passes for 24 yards against the Seattle Seahawks. However, he suffered an injury during warmups prior to Minnesota’s matchup with the Titans, and he would miss the final two exhibition matchups.
The receiver was drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He had an underwhelming career in New England, though, catching just 57 passes for 598 yards and 4 touchdowns during his three seasons there.

In 2022, Harry was traded to the Chicago Bears where he caught 7 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown, but the Bears let him walk in free agency. He then landed in Minnesota, and now, the receiver could get his first regular season action of the 2023 season on Sunday.
Kickoff between the Chiefs and Vikings is scheduled for 3:25 PM Central tomorrow afternoon.
