Heading into the second half of the NFL season, both the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints sit at 5-4 and currently hold positions in the NFC playoff race.

The two teams are set to meet this weekend, and it will be the third time in the past four weeks that the Vikings have played against a division leader.

Ahead of that game, the Saints have released their initial Week 10 injury report, and 2 Saints rookies were DNPs on Wednesday: EDGE Isaiah Foskey and RB Kendre Miller.

Here is a look at the full Saints injury report for Wednesday:

  • RB Kendre Miller (Ankle, DNP)
  • EDGE Isaiah Foskey (Quadricep, DNP)
  • TE Jimmy Graham (Rest- Non-Injury Related, Limited)
  • RT Ryan Ramczyk (Rest- Non-Injury Relate, Limited)
  • LB Ty Summers (Hamstring, Full)
  • LB Demario Davis (Knee, Full)
  • FB Adam Prentice (Knee, Full)*
*: Returned to practice on 21-day window

Foskey was a second-round pick this spring by the Saints, but he has yet to carve out much of a role for himself during his rookie season. He has played in 8 games this season, but the pass-rusher has yet to start for New Orleans and has only recorded 8 tackles and a pass defense.

Meanwhile, Miller was New Orleans’ third-round selection and has appeared in 7 games this season, but he left Week 9’s win against the Chicago Bears early because of his ankle injury. He has recorded 28 carries for 83 yards along with 9 receptions for 111 yards so far in 2023.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr (4) hands off to running back Kendre Miller (25) , Sunday., Oct 29, 2023, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Outside of these two rookies, though, New Orleans’ injury report looks much cleaner than Minnesota’s early in the week. Jimmy Graham and Ryan Ramczyk were limited on Wednesday, but that was due to rest rather than injuries.

The other injured Saints (Demario Davis, Ty Summers, and Adam Prentice) were all full participants as well, so unless there are any setbacks, they should be ready to roll on Sunday.

Davis, in particular, is a huge piece for New Orleans’ defense, which has been terrific to start the year. The All-Pro linebacker has recorded 65 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, 3 passes defended, and a forced fumble through the first nine games of the season.

Indianapolis Colts tight end Drew Ogletree (85) is unable to receive thanks to defensive pressure from New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis (56) on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Saints will release two more injury reports this week on Thursday and Friday before they and the Vikings kick off their Week 10 matchup inside U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, November 12th. The game is scheduled to start at 12 PM Central.
