The Minnesota Vikings have been one of the more banged up teams in the NFL over the past few weeks as a number of key contributors have gone down with injuries.

Despite missing names like Kirk Cousins, Christian Darrisaw, and Justin Jefferson, the Vikings were still able to capture their fourth straight win on Sunday by defeating the Atlanta Falcons. However, that is now in the rearview mirror, and Minnesota now looks ahead to another tough matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

On the Wednesday ahead of that Week 10 game, the Vikings released an extensive injury report, which included 10 names and 3 DNPs.

Here is a look at the full list of injuries for the Vikings on Wednesday:

  • LB Brian Asamoah (Ankle, Limited)
  • LT Christian Darrisaw (Groin, Limited)
  • QB Jaren Hall (Concussion, DNP)
  • TE T.J. Hockenson (Ribs, Limited)
  • WR Justin Jefferson (Hamstring, Limited)*
  • DL Dean Lowry (Groin, DNP)
  • TE Johnny Mundt (Knee, Limited)
  • WR Jalen Nailor (Hamstring, Full)
  • WR K.J. Osborn (Concussion, DNP)
  • IOL Chris Reed (Foot, Full)*
*: Returned to practice on 21-day window

It seems like new QB Josh Dobbs could have his hands full on Sunday seeing as T.J. Hockenson is still hindered from his rib injury as is Darrisaw with his groin injury that held him out of last weekend’s game. As expected, K.J. Osborn was also held out of practice with his concussion.

If the Vikings are without some of their offensive playmakers this weekend, they will once again turn to some depth contributors that proved to be very important, such as David Quessenberry, Trishton Jackson, and Brandon Powell.

There is some good news for the Vikings, though. Justin Jefferson returned to practice for the first time since being placed on IR with his hamstring injury, and his 21-day practice window has been opened.

As a result, it seems like the star receiver is set to make his return soon, though it likely won’t be this weekend based on some comments from Kevin O’Connell on Wednesday. The head coach said it would be “aggressive” to bring Jefferson back against the Saints, so in all likelihood, he will sit out at least one more game.

Still, it is a great sign to see Jefferson back on the practice field. He is a very important piece of Minnesota’s offense, and with Jordan Addison’s powers being seen in recent weeks, they could soon be a deadly duo at the receiver position.

Minnesota will release two more injury reports on Thursday and Friday this week, so hopefully, we will see some of the Vikings stars get expanded playing time over the next couple of days. Then, kickoff against the New Orleans Saints is scheduled for 12 PM Central inside U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, November 12th.
