Q: Do you expect Case Keenum to play instead of Josh Allen in Week 10?
A: Josh Allen’s status is up the air because of an injured elbow, so Keenum would be the next man up if Allen is a no-go.
However, Allen tends to have that iron-man mentality. We believe Allen will play, but that is purely speculative. Here’s the latest:
And if a quarterback was going to miss a game, this is the type of tweet that would be a precursor to that eventual announcement.
Q: Will Akayleb Evans eventually take Cameron Dantzler’s job?
A: No, it’s way too early to declare that.
Dantzler is an established veteran, while Evans had one good game. Evans would need prolonged success — avoiding bad games — to fully oust Dantzler.
But Dantzler will likely miss Week 10 at Buffalo, meaning Evans will get a crack at a sequel. His 73.8 Pro Football Focus grade was the second-best on the Vikings defense against the Commanders.
Q: Do you think Khyiris Tonga can evolve into a starter?
A: Yes.
He won’t derail Dalvin Tomlinson’s job, but that’s because Tomlinson is awesome. Still, the Vikings signed Tonga at a time when the practice squad was taking shape, and the former Bear and Falcon never joined that unit. He’s probably a depth player for the rest of the season — one that can evolve into a starter.
Tonga fired up a 65.3 PFF grade in Week 10, which isn’t too shabby.
