Winners and Losers: week three

The Vikings dismantled the Raiders at home, 34-14. They dominated all three phases of the game and won without much struggle. The run game continued to thrive and quarterback Kirk Cousins did well when his number was called.

Winners:

Linebacker Eric Kendricks

Eric Kendricks absolutely balled out yesterday. He meet Jacobs and the backup in the hole in numerous occasions and was a beast in the open field. When Kendricks has an open lane to the runners he doesn’t miss often, and he showcased his skills on Sunday.

Center Garett Bradbury

Bradbury has strung together a nice first three games of the season. He’s been facing some tough opponents, but has yet to be completely dominated. He put on another good performance against the Raiders, and is now looking forward to his toughest test yet in Chicago.

Running Back Alexander Mattison

Mattison continues to average over five yards a carry after Sunday’s game. He has been a perfect compliment to Dalvin Cook and notched his first rushing touchdowns this season. Mattison showed off a surprising athleticism by leaping from the five yard line over a Raiders’ defender and landing in the endzone.

Honorable mention:

Quarterback Kirk Cousins

Defensive tackle Shamar Stephen

Tight end Irv Smith, Jr.

Losers:

Wide Receiver Chad Bebee

Chad Bebee has failed to make a splash as the wide receiver three in Minnesota, and he’s also been extremely underwhelming at punt return, despite having multiple opportunities. He went down with an ankle injury in last week’s game, which will give targets to guys like Irv Smith, Jr. and Bisi Johnson moving forward.

Cornerback Nate Meadors

Meadors only sees the field when MInnesota is super short at cornerback, or in garbage time. In that limited amount of time he’s already given up two bad touchdowns, and I’d be surprised if he was still on the team when fellow DBs Mackensie Alexander and Holton Hill return.
