Which Arizona Cardinals Should Be in Your Fantasy Football Lineup?

Part Two of this week’s fantasy preview is here, and with it brings a breakdown of the Vikings opponent, the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona’s offense provides numerous problems for a Minnesota defense that may be going into this game extremely banged up. Everson Griffen, Anthony Barr, and Harrison Hand have already been ruled out while the status of Eric Kendricks is still up in the air. Here are some players to start and sit this week on the Cardinals roster.

QB Kyler Murray-Start

The Vikings linebacker issues will be extremely evident if Eric Kendricks cannot go this weekend. It will leave Nick Vigil and group of largely unproven backups to go against one of the most dynamic QBs in the NFL. Not to mention he just got done putting on a clinic against the Tennessee Titans. He threw for four touchdowns and ran another one in, ending the week as fantasy QB2. The one thing to watch out for is Minnesota’s pass rush. They got to Joe Burrow early and often last week and could pose some issues for Murray, but certainly not enough to bench him.

RB Chase Edmonds-Sit

Chase Edmonds and James Conner split touches last week, but Edmonds was favored with results as a receiver. Minnesota feels like they would be a favorable matchup for Edmonds after the performance Joe Mixon just had against them, but one of Minnesota’s beefy DTs, Dalvin Tomlinson, had a rough performance in the opener. I’d expect a bounce back performance from him this week, making things a little tougher on Edmonds. Arizona is probably better suited letting Murray do his thing, anyway.

WR DeAndre Hopkins-Start

We could probably just leave this one as a no-brainer given that Hopkins is one of the most talented receivers in the NFL. He caught two touchdowns last week and led the Cardinals in targets while shredding Tennessee’s defense apart. However, Minnesota’s secondary got absolutely torched in Cincinnati last week, and that was against a very young receiving group. Hopkins is a completely different beast and brings a different set of challenges. You should probably start Hopkins every week, but this is an especially intriguing matchup.

WR Christian Kirk-Sit

Christian Kirk had what was probably his best game as a pro last week. Catching all five of targets for 70 yards and two touchdowns is quite the performance, but it doesn’t feel replicable. Kirk has always been a talented receiver, but his inconsistency has always bitten fantasy players in the you-know-where. While Minnesota’s defense likely won’t be able to contain Hopkins this week, I’d be surprised if they didn’t have a bit of a redemption week by taking other receivers out of the equation. This is still a talent group at the end of the day, and they should prove it this week.
