It’s almoooost official, Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune was the first to break the news with NFL Insider Ian Rapoport quickly following, the Minnesota Vikings have reportedly re-signed defensive centre piece Linval Joseph, one of the most impactful Vikings through the past few years.

Over the past few weeks it’s become increasingly clear that the priority of the pre-season for the front office and Rick Spielman has been to lock down the defensive nucleus that has been key to the Vikings success the past few seasons. First the Vikings resigned Everson Griffen and Xavier Rhodes to long-term deals and now Linval Joseph get’s the same treatment.

According to Ian Rapoport, Linval Joseph is getting a 4-year, $50 million extension with $31.5 million guaranteed. The initial impressions of the contract seems to be extremely team friendly putting Linval as only the 8th highest payed DT in the league.

Linval Joseph made his first career Pro Bowl after a dominant 2017 season that included 75+ tackles and 4 sacks.
