Stefon Diggs Gets Paid
Former star Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs, most widely known for the Minneapolis Miracle against the Saints in 2018, is cashing in on his elite skillset.
According to Adam Schefter, the Buffalo Bills have reached an agreement with Stefon Diggs on a four-year, $104 million extension that includes $70M guaranteed. The $70M guaranteed is the second highest for any wide receiver contract in the NFL, behind Tyreek Hill’s $72.2m guaranteed.
This signing will tie quarterback Josh Allen and Diggs together, since they are both now under contract through the 2027 season on highly lucrative contracts. Bills fans are probably in full support of this extension. Allen and Diggs have displayed great chemistry both on and off the field.
Stefon Diggs has put up the best numbers of his career since joining Allen in Buffalo, which resulted in his first two Pro Bowl appearances. In his two years with the Bills, Diggs has hauled in 230 passes for 2,760 yards and 18 touchdowns.
The Bills also won a ton of games since the Diggs trade. Last season, it took an absolutely wild overtime showdown with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to knock them out of the playoffs.
Diggs, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Vikings, spent the first five years of his career in Minnesota before getting traded to Buffalo, and contributed one of the most memorable Minnesota sports moments of all time. He has a good chance of finishing his career in Buffalo.
Whether Vikings fans appreciate his exit from Minnesota or not, Stefon Diggs has had a great career as a wide receiver in the NFL.
