Minnesota Vikings Begin Bringing in Draft Talent for Pre-Draft Interviews
The draft is less than a month away, and the Minnesota Vikings are putting in some work in preparation. The prospect visits list features several players:
Many fans won’t recognize the names, and that’s fine. These are players who, for the most part, are expected to go later in the draft. Cameron Goode, an OLB, has also been linked to the team.
The names that jump out to me are the edge rushers, offensive linemen, and corners. These are the three main areas that still need to be addressed, so it’s certainly notable that the Minnesota Vikings are doing their due diligence on some of the prospects who’ll go later in the draft.
Tay Martin is an interesting name. The competition for the final receiver spot(s) is going to be intense, but one has to think that a draft pick has the upper hand. Cole Strange is 94th in the TDN rankings, suggesting it’ll likely take a mid-round pick to snag him.
The 6’6, 282 Otomewo played for Minnesota, so it’s possible that a lot of Vikings fans are more familiar with him leading up to the draft. That kind of size would lend itself well to being a 3-4 defensive end. TDN suggests he’ll need time to develop. Playing behind Danielle Hunter and Za’Darius Smith would allow him to do so.
Of course, a lot more could be said about these players. These are merely a few incomplete words to function as an update, not a robust analysis.
In the coming weeks, Purple PTSD will be offering up all kinds of draft content, so be sure to keep swinging by.
