Minnesota Finishes Off The Coaching Staff
Earlier this week, we covered how the Minnesota coaching staff was coming together. Recently, we received the news that the staff is now complete.
Take a look at this concise summary of how things came together:
The Vikings also announced the hiring of assistant wide receivers coach/offensive quality control coach Tony Sorrentino, assistant defensive line coach A’Lique Terry, defensive quality control coach Steve Donatell, offensive quality control coach Derron Montgomery, and pass game specialist/game management coordinator Ryan Cordell. Donatell is the son of Vikings defensive coordinator Ed Donatell.
It’s possible there could be an adjustment or two in the coming months, but things seem to be pretty near set.
Perhaps the most important part of this announcement is that the team can now fully turn its attention to the roster. With the coaching staff in place, the Minnesota leadership group can proceed with the necessary cuts, trade, restructures, and extensions.
As we know, the Vikings are currently navigating the calm before the storm. Other teams have already started to get their finances in order. I imagine the Vikings will soon be announcing several moves. Well-established vets like Adam Thielen, Eric Kendricks, and Harrison Smith may all be asked to shuffle money around. Oh, and Kirk Cousins will be involved in plenty of internal discussions about money. Ditto for Danielle.
In other words, the roster news ought to be arriving in the coming days. Buckle up.
