Spielman Says Vikings Taking Time w/ Bridgewater

The Vikings released a video of mystery quarterback Teddy Bridgewater practicing at yesterday’s first day of OTA’s, in footage that was as celebrated as I assume the REAL footage of big foot will be when the Globalists in the media finally let us see our furry uncle for all the glory that he is. Because of the hype that surrounded releasing the video, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman obviously wanted to dial it back a bit while meeting with the media today at Winter Park.

“[He’s] Very limited in what he’s able to do at this point, but it’s progress,” Spielman said. Adding that the Vikings were taking it “One day at a time”. Considering the mystery that’s surrounding Teddy’s future with the team (At times, if any) it does make sense to temper expectations for the young quarterback, especially and perhaps most importantly his own expectations. By even the most conservative measurements the injury he suffered in last season’s pre-season was horrific and in this post-AD 2012 reality we now live in there are players that have attempted to come back too soon from knee injuries and it’s had drastic consequences (Just ask RGIII).

So, while it was amazing to see Teddy look like Teddy again, he is still very far away from returning to the sport that he loves and that we love watching him love. The fact that the Vikings attempted to hide his progress over the off-season doesn’t diminish that, even if it does seem sort of foolish in retrospect especially since the Vikings have zero incentive to bring him back in 2017. They will get to pay him his full-salary while essentially red-shirting him for a year, meaning that his contract no longer is set to expire in 2018. They also shouldn’t need him, considering they have both Sam Bradford and Case Keenum under contract for the year as well, so it’s looking like Teddy will really just be the unofficial team mascot this year. Even if his other leg was essentially to fall off, he still wouldn’t be as poorly received as Ragnar, so… Silver lining!

So, rest up buddy. The stronger you come back the better it’ll be for everyone.
