While all focus for the Minnesota Vikings this week is on the Denver Broncos, some news came out on Wednesday regarding Minnesota’s Week 12 matchup against the Chicago Bears.

That game was initially scheduled to be played on Monday Night Football, but with the lack of success Chicago has had this season, there was some speculation that it could be flexed out of that MNF spot.

However, Wednesday was the deadline for a flex to occur, and seeing as it never did, it appears that Minnesota and Chicago will indeed meet on Monday night.

With this being the case, the Vikings will play back-to-back primetime games before their Week 13 bye. Their Week 11 game against the Denver Broncos is set to take place on Sunday Night Football before their Monday night game back at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The two teams met earlier this season already back in Week 6. That game took place at Soldier Field, and the Vikings were able to escape with a 19-13 victory over their division rivals.

During that game, Bears QB Justin Fields had to leave with a thumb injury, and he has been sidelined ever since. Tyson Bagent has started for Chicago in his place over the past four weeks, but it appears that Fields is healthy enough to return to the field in Week 11.

If Justin Jefferson doesn’t make his return to the field this weekend, there is also a pretty decent chance that Week 12 would be his first game back on the field since he went to IR following Minnesota’s Week 5 loss to the Chiefs.

Since the two teams played in Week 6, they have been on opposite trajectories over the past few weeks. That game kicked off Minnesota’s current five-game winning streak while Chicago has gone 2-2 and remains at the bottom of the NFC North.

Kickoff between the Bears and Vikings remains at 7:15 PM Central on Monday, November 27th inside U.S. Bank Stadium.
