Vikings Signal Interest in Young DT, TE, and LB (Among Others)

Sometimes, the public flirtations don’t amount to much, especially if another team leapfrogs Minnesota before interest can turn into action. But, to be sure, there’s plenty of merit in the basic idea that actions are what matter most in the NFL.
The Vikings signalled interest in a young defensive tackle in recent days. Likewise, there were some moves to indicate a desire to possibly onboard players occupying other positions, such as the fact-finding missions for a tight end alongside a linebacker. These moves function as clues ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Vikings Signal Interest in Various Draft Prospects
To begin, consider the trio of players under consideration:
- DT Jacobian Guillory II (as Aaron Wilson reports)
- TE Oscar Delp (as Arye Pulli reports)
- LB Khalil Jacobs (as Ryan Fowler reports)
In no way, folks, is the above list anywhere close to exhaustive as it relates to the Vikings’ interest in young talent ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. Already, there has been indications of a desire to learn more about other players, such as speedy runner Demond Claiborne. Many, many more are in the process of being researched, discussed, and so on.

Still, consider the above names. Minnesota has enough intrigue in each to want to dig down a touch further ahead of the end of April.
To gauge where these talents could get picked (or not picked, as the case may be), consider the word from PFF. Offering the ranking from the analytics website isn’t meant to be the final word but, rather, a rough shorthand to get a sense of where each could get picked. Check it out:
- Jacobian Guillory II — No. 411
- Khalil Jacobs — Unranked
- Oscar Delp — No. 215
Tossing a basic, very imperfect draft grade on each means considering someone who could slip into undrafted free agency, another UDFA, and then a talent who is in the range of the 6th or 7th. So, none of the above players are being looked at as franchise saviors.

In the past, teams have sometimes hid their true desires behind a lack of public action. A coveted player gets entirely ignored, cloaking desire so that rival teams don’t jump the line for a talent.
The above consideration involves players who are moving through the opposite scenario: an easy-to-see level of interest into diamonds in the rough. Quite possibly, one or two become Vikings on Saturday, April 25th. Minnesota will burn through its Day 3 selections (picks from the 4th until the 7th) before welcoming a new bunch of UDFAs. Circle the names above as players who may end up seeing a horn slapped onto their helmet.
The Vikings’ top roster needs are within the secondary, at linebacker, defensive tackle, running back, and center. Minnesota needs a great draft as much as coffee needs caffeine.
