Vikings GM Nolan Teasley Has Clear Goals and Expectations in 2026 and Beyond

Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy (9) walks down the tunnel for warmup ahead of the Detroit Lions game at Ford Field in Detroit on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

On Wednesday morning, the Vikings introduced brand new General Manager Nolan Teasley to the world for the first time since they hired him on Saturday.

A joint introductory press conference from Teasley and Vikings owner Mark Wilf clarified what they are expecting from Nolan Teasley and the team’s expectations moving forward. Nolan Teasley began his football career with Seattle, where he remained until Minnesota made him their new GM. He worked his way up from young scouting intern to Assistant GM with the Seahawks. In-between those roles, Teasley also acted as Assistant Director of Pro Personnel, and was promoted to Director of Pro Personnel before being made Assistant GM.

Now, Nolan Teasley has more power than he’s ever had as the GM of the Minnesota Vikings. During the presser on Wednesday, Teasley made it bluntly clear that he has sky-high goals and expectations for the team.

Teasley spoke openly regarding his opinions on the Vikings roster, as well as being complimentary of their recent history during the press conference.

The roster, it’s obvious it’s a strong nucleus of talent on both sides of the ball. They’ve won a lot of football games here in the last four years, including five in a row to end last season, and I look forward to being able to be a part of that and building toward more opportunity and more wins in the future.”

Teasley also had great compliments for the Vikings’ fanbase. He called it a “passionate” one with a lot of history, and that he looks forward to “building upon the fact that U.S. Bank Stadium is already one of the toughest places to play in the sport” because of the fanbase. Teasley also committed to building a deep understanding of the current roster, building strong relationships to everyone within the organization, and to provide a support system for the vision that Kevin O’Connell has for the team.

After the Vikings opened up Nolan Teasley and Mark Wilf to questions from the media, Wilf insisted that Teasley will have the final decision on the team’s roster, and that he will “heavily lean” on Kevin O’Connell and Rob Brzezinski’s input to build towards the final product.

Unless you’re living on another planet, every team’s end-goal is to win the Super Bowl. Since we still live on Earth and Nolan Teasley does as well, he shared that that is, in fact, his main goal for the Minnesota Vikings.

Our goals are simple. We’re gonna build the deepest, most competitive roster possible so that we can be at our best in December, January, and February, and ultimately work toward winning the Super Bowl that this fanbase deserves.”

Nolan Teasley certainly comes from a winning pedigree. His first year in Seattle in 2013 in the scouting department saw the Seahawks win the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history. Of course, his final year also saw a Super Bowl victory with Sam Darnold leading the way, a triumph Teasley had much more of a hand in than the first as Assistant GM.

Teasley said the obvious, but it is what we wanted to hear. He is a football guy that understands the game well, and comes from a team in the Seahawks that knows what it takes to win. Hopes are high in Minnesota as always, and there’s good reason.
