The View from VT: Vikings Cut Young Defender, Greenard’s Market, and Schefter’s Intel

Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.
The View from VT: April 25th, 2026
1) Vikings Cut Defender Everyone Was Excited About: In fairness, the DT add was always facing an uphill battle to get onto the final roster. Seeing Jalen Redmond shine proved that it was possible, but that doesn’t mean it was likely. Maybe there can be a deal to welcome him back in the summer.

2) Jonathan Greenard’s Market Has Changed: The Vikings are now going to be rallying around Andrew Van Ginkel and Dallas Turner. So, too, will the top picks from the draft — Caleb Banks and Jake Golday — help to fill out the defense. And good for Greenard by landing some meaty money.
3) Adam Schefter Delivers Last Minute Draft Intel for the Vikings: He’s pretty plugged-in, meaning people take notice when Adam Schefter speaks. What’s going to hit as a merciful reality for many people, though, is the firm clarity of actual picks and actual trades.

4) Jonathan Greenard’s Trade Price Comes into Focus: Gotta give at least some credit to the Vikings. There was very little mystery about the situation. The rumors have been out there for a long time. Minnesota still got a 3rd in 2026 and a 3rd in 2027 (saved a bunch of cap space, too).
5) The 7 Leading Candidates for the Vikings’ First Draft Pick: People made predictions. People ended up being wrong. So it goes (to borrow a line from the Tralfamadorians). Going for DT Caleb Banks means embracing a ton of upside. There’s plenty of risk baked into the decision, too.

Enjoy the extra reading, Vikings fans.
