The View from VT: Ian Rapoport on MIN’s QB Plan, 4 Names Mentioned, and Justin Fields

Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.
The View from VT: February 14th, 2026
1) Ian Rapoport Confirms Vikings QB Plan: An older passer needs to be added. What’s distinct about that older passer is he needs to be capable of doing two things: be a strong starter (if needed) or be a strong backup (if needed). As a result, someone like Aaron Rodgers doesn’t make a ton of sense given that he likely wouldn’t accept being a QB2.

2) Tom Pelissero Names 4 QBs the Vikings are Considering: No doubt, the league’s various veteran passers will be circling around the Vikings’ rumor mill. What remains to be seen is who is a legitimate contender to secure work in the Twin Cities. Sometimes, those who are internal to the NFL (coaches, executives) thinks differently than those outside the NFL.
3) Our Writers Pick the Best QB1 for Vikings in 2026: Put me down for Justin Fields. He’s young and was a high draft pick. He has talent and is a good leader. Rounding out the appeal is that he’s on an affordable deal and can slide into that odd hybrid role of being both a QB1 or QB2 based on what Minnesota needs.

4) CBS Sports Predicts Blockbuster Justin Jefferson Trade: Don’t hold your breath. In the NFL, basically anything is possible. The 2025 season involved the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl, Shedeur Sanders being a Pro Bowler, and Philip Rivers making a comeback. Still, don’t expect a Jefferson swap.
5) Vikings Connected to Three Trade Targets: Tough to predict how things will go on the trade market. Making a move for a passer makes at least some sense given that doing so involves not needing to compete for QBs on the FA market, a spot where prices can go nuts.

Enjoy the extra reading, Vikings fans.
