The View from VT: QB Trade Nears Finish Line, Injury Update, and Goodbye Linebacker

Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.
The View from VT: May 9th, 2026
1) A Vikings QB Trade Takes a Step Toward the Finish Line: The Vikings did very poorly last year within the various quarterback decisions. What wasn’t a bad move, though, was the Sam Howell trade (the second one). Shipping him to the Eagles involved getting some picks, one of which has turned into a young corner.

2) There’s a Vikings QB Injury Update: Great news. Last year, Mr. Wentz worked through a brutal shoulder injury. Seeing him endure considerable pain was admirable, though it did feel cruel. A perfect world means avoiding similar injuries in the future.
3) Raiders Say Goodbye to Ex-Vikings Linebacker: The Raiders are showing off a ton of Vikings influence. Kirk Cousins and Jalen Nailor are both employed in Sin City. The new head coach, Klint Kubiak, was the OC in Minnesota prior to Kevin O’Connell. Do note, though, that one former Viking has been exiled.

4) Vikings May Roll Out 8 New Starters in 2026: The roster is going to look a lot different. Lots of shuffling has taken place from within the Brian Flores defense, meaning there are going to be plenty of fresh starters. The offense and special teams will undergo their own changes.
5) Vikings Linked to Veteran CB in Free Agency: There’s a push/pull dynamic among the Vikings corners. All of the top options — Byron Murphy Jr., Isaiah Rodgers, and James Pierre — are firmly within their prime, if not approaching the end of those top years. Next up are a cluster of unproven young fellas. Does somebody else get added?

Enjoy the extra reading, Vikings fans.
