The View from VT: A Pick Going for 3 RBs, MIN’s Roster Losers, and New WR Update

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Max Brosmer (12) hands off to running back Cam Akers (31) in the fourth quarter of the NFL Week 3 game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Cincinnati Bengals at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025. The Vikings won, 48-10.

The View from VT: May 2nd, 2026

1) Vikings Use 1 Pick to Acquire 3 Running Backs: Veteran NFL runner Cam Akers is the gift who keeps on giving. Does he come back to the Vikings yet again? Check out the piece to see how the singular draft pick got moved around to do all sorts of work to add runners in Minnesota.

2) The Vikings Draft Just Created 10 Clear Losers: Football is a brutal sport. Most obvious, of course, is the violence that takes place within the games. But then there’s another aspect to the brutality: a relentless competition where there aren’t enough roster spots for the players who are trying to earn a job.

3) There’s a Jauan Jennings Update for Vikings: He would be a great add. The key issue is the cost. Bringing him to town for $10 million (or less) looks like a savvy bit of business. Clearly, Mr. Jennings didn’t get an offer that he couldn’t refuse.

4) 5 Free Agents who Make Sense for the Vikings after the Draft: Teams tend to be very aggressive in the middle of March. There’s then some activity but quite a bit of caution from late March until the end of the draft. Why? Those valuable compensatory picks.

5) Former Vikings Defender Pulls a 180: The former Packer became yet another turncoat within the long line of players who moved from Wisconsin to Minnesota. Unlike many others, Dean Lowry didn’t play particularly well as a Viking. Lowry got brought to town to offer pass-rushing sizzle but failed to do so.
