Kyler Murray Gets Absolutely Buried by NFL Legend

No matter what you do, it’s basically impossible to make everyone like you. That’s just life. That basic rule of thumb rings even more true if you’re an NFL player, or a world-class athlete in general. This came to a head recently with Vikings QB Kyler Murray.
Murray has had quite the interesting career, and has built up slight reputation. Murray’s name is the subject of a lot of criticism for concerns about his work ethic, with jabs about his enjoyment of video games being one of the easy examples. Kyler also had a contract clause in Arizona one time that required he watch film for at least 4 hours every week. This came after he said that he “doesn’t need to watch film” during a press conference. Of course, he probably wasn’t serious saying that, but it’s a bad look either way. Arizona would go on to remove the clause.
Most importantly, Kyler Murray hasn’t really built up a winning reputation. He’s 0-1 in the playoffs in his career, and has had a couple seasons where he starts hot and then fizzles out late into the season. This has led his comments about not getting all of the QB1 reps to draw some real ire from an NFL legend.
Kyler Murray Gets Torched by LeSean McCoy for Rep-Splitting Comments

LeSean McCoy recently went scorched Earth on Kyler Murray on the Speakeasy podcast after Murray’s comments about splitting QB1 reps with J.J. McCarthy.
”I hate a super cocky, arrogant player that’s not that good, that’s a little above average. That is Kyler Murray.
He gets so bad that he starts [saying] ‘I’ve been great in high school, I’ve been great’. What have you done for us lately? Because you’ve had some good wide receivers. And they still tryna figure out what the hell you be doing. They say ‘1, what are you looking at?’ So when we came to Minnesota, I keep saying like ‘Why’s everybody acting like he’s about to save the day?’”
Yeah, so it seems safe to say that LeSean McCoy isn’t the biggest fan of Kyler Murray. This little issue that McCoy has with him actually isn’t even new. Even years in the past, LeSean McCoy has called Kyler Murray “trash” and said that he “plays like a high school player”.
Kyler Murray Has Best Opportunity of His Career to Prove People Wrong

Kyler Murray’s version of QB play certainly isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, especially not for people who seem to be “football purists” like LeSean McCoy. To be fair, Murray’s style of play is yet to prove effective against winning teams and in the playoffs. However, it’s hard to judge how much of that is the style of play, and how much of that is the fact that it was the Arizona Cardinals.
I’m not too sure where to undying hate that McCoy has for Murray comes from, but it’s a sentiment that’s shared with many people. Murray’s erratic style of play is more prone to garnering some hate, especially when it’s led to no late season or playoff success. Now, in Minnesota, Kyler Murray has a fantastic chance to prove all of those doubters wrong once and for all.
Hopefully LeSean McCoy is front row for that one.
