No doubt, UDFA QB Max Brosmer and UDFA OG Joe Huber were among the Vikings underdogs coming into training camp and the preseason.

Right now, though, both must be feeling pretty good. After all, word has emerged of them getting onto the final roster. Consider ESPN’s Adam Schefter’s comments: “Vikings had at least two undrafted free agents make their 53-man roster: QB Max Brosmer and G Joe Huber.”

Adding further credence to Schefter’s update is what’s been circulating within the local media.

KSTP’s Darren Wolfson offered the news about Huber, explaining, “Huber has earned a 53-man spot.” So, too, did Alec Lewis (The Athletic) offer an update: “Sounds like Vikings UDFA OL Joe Huber is going to be on the 53-man.” At the end of the day, nothing is official until it’s official, but the guard appears safe.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Max Brosmer (12), protected by offensive guard Joe Huber (60), passes during the third quarter of an NFL pre-season game against the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Friday, Aug. 22, 2025.

When it comes to Mr. Brosmer, the final roster has been looking likely for several days.

The former Golden Gopher has had an excellent August, performing very well in the preseason. He’s smart and hard working. He can push the ball downfield and has some zip on his throws. He is, in short, someone well worth retaining given that he’s someone who could realistically be a long-term QB2.

As for Mr. Huber, there has been a trail of clues.

Start off with the large lad earning a strong payday. The undrafted lineman earned $210,000 guaranteed within his contract, a key piece of evidence. The suggestion is that multiple teams were competing for his services and that Minnesota had to get serious about signing him, necessitating the impressive payout (curious minds may like to know that Mr. Brosmer saw $244,000 guaranteed within his UDFA contract).

Plus, Huber showed off some versatility and strong play in the preseason. He functioned as both a left guard and a right guard. Tally up his PFF grade for the three games — a total workload sitting at 185 snaps — and the rookie was coming in at a commendable 74.1 grade (largely due to what was an elite performance versus the Texans).

Only 23, Joe Huber could be part of the Vikings’ o-line for a little while.

Other notable bits of Vikings news to trickle in throughout the day has involved moving on from a different o-lineman, a very surprising decision on defense, and the possibility of adding an upside receiver/returner.
