The View from VT: A Playmaker Reunion, Dropping a Veteran, and ESPN’s QB Trade Idea

Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.
The View from VT: November 1st, 2025
1) Vikings Sign New Player in Reunion Deal: So much of what’s going on in Minnesota is in response to the injury issues that continue to proliferate. Ben Sims isn’t going to be the world’s best tight end but there appears to be a decent amount of optimism for what he can do. Any chance that Mr. Sims proves to be someone who helps in the long term?

2) Vikings Drop Veteran Defender: Clearing out a spot on the practice squad was needed after the Carson Wentz injury. In need of more quarterback depth, Minnesota has welcomed John Wolford to town (someone praised as a “psycho”). The defender will now be looking to find work elsewhere in what has become a winding NFL journey.
3) ESPN Bangs the Drum on QB Trade for Vikings: Safe to say that there has been ample discussion about the Vikings’ quarterback situation. The wild part? Just that there’s very little sign of things slowing down. Essentially the only thing that will quiet the discourse is a J.J. McCarthy who improves in a hurry.

4) Vikings Officially Name Starting QB at Lions: Pulling off the win in Week 9 looks very unlikely. Not impossible, but a true long shot. Perhaps the only thing that makes the game appear more winnable is that games within a division can get funky. So, look for funky on Sunday if you’re cheering for a Vikings victory.
5) The Vikings Seem to Confirm the Hand Off to New QB1: Just a matter of time. All along, the plan has been to go back to the 22-year-old arm. With health ruling out Carson Wentz and health ruling in J.J. McCarthy, the hand off made a pile of sense.

Enjoy the extra reading, Vikings fans.
