Saying Something Nice About Each of the Vikings’ NFC North Rivals

In 2025, with the global climate and more things dividing us than uniting us, football is kind of like a beacon of community. As Vikings fans, do we “like” fans and players from other NFL teams, especially our NFC North divisional brethren? Not really. Do we hate them? No, absolutely not.

So today, let’s focus on positivity and compliment teams around the Vikings’ division of the NFL North. We may not all see eye-to-eye about the team we root for, but we are also born with the ability to put bias aside and give credit where it may be due to them.

Everyone, be brave, and let’s put on our “Minnesota Nice” hats.

Detroit Lions – The City of Detroit Deserves the New Era Lions

It hurts to say for the Vikings, especially because Lions fans have been kind of insufferable at times due to all this new-found “winning” and not knowing how to act, but the City of Detroit genuinely deserves this iteration of their Lions, the upside of the entire organization, and the beacon of hope within the city’s limits.

We all know the struggles the city has faced, especially around the time of the recession in 2008 and the auto industry hanging in the balance. The Motor City pulled through, and it continues to build upon its own successes. I don’t know a ton about Detroit and its daily trials and tribulations, but of course, we know the stereotype surrounding the area, and the Lions are directly impacting the city financially.

It’s a city that pulls itself up by its bootstraps, and Dan Campbell’s Detroit Lions are a fitting piece of symbolism for a city that stands up when knocked down. Don’t get too gushy if you’re a Lions fan reading this; you’re still annoying.

Little Caesars is also incredible, and thanks for my car.

Chicago Bears – You Might’ve Finally Gotten It Right

In a similar vein to the Detroit Lions, unfortunately for the Minnesota Vikings, the Chicago Bears may finally be getting things right and headed in the correct direction.

Their 2023 trade with the Carolina Panthers to get out of the first round that year and eventually landed them with the first overall pick in 2024, which landed them Caleb Williams (as well as a lot of other return) was a masterful maneuver, and for that, Ryan Poles should be awarded. They may also have gotten the head coach and offensive mind that the city has yearned for for decades in Ben Johnson, ironically, from those Detroit Lions.

The Bears are looking like they’re going in the right direction, much to the Vikings’ dismay. As Vikings fans, we may have gotten a bit spoiled by the Bears and Lions being in purgatory for decades and seeing them as easier games on the schedule, but if we’re being honest, we’ve been in purgatory too.

Kinda funny your QB wanted to be a Viking, tho.

Green Bay Packers – Your Head Coach is Good-Looking

Pause.

Honestly, I just don’t have much nice to say. I like some of your young players, and I do think in my past conversations with fans of other NFC North teams, I learned that Packers fans are some of the most knowledgeable about the sport.

I just REALLY can’t get past the “owner” thing. I like cheese, though.
