All Signs Point to a Big Game for Jordan Addison

Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison has a pretty solid connection with current QB Carson Wentz, who was just named the starter for these Vikings in Week 8 on Thursday Night Football against Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. Addison has played three games since serving his 3-game suspension to begin the 2025 season for his past off-field antics, and in those games, he’s proven why he can be one of the best WR2 options in the National Football League.
In those three games that he has been featured in, Jordan Addison’s yardage totals are 114, 41, and 128, respectively.

The game in which he had 41 yards came in London against the Cleveland Browns, where he was reportedly benched for the first quarter by head coach Kevin O’Connell for missing a walkthrough earlier in that week. It is important to note that Jordan Addison did catch the game-winning touchdown from Carson Wentz in that contest across the pond.
Jordan Addison’s Hot Start
You can never assume anything in the NFL, but it would be a pretty safe bet to say that Jordan Addison would’ve eclipsed at least 60 yards in that game if he played the first quarter. He’s showing out in 2025, as evidenced by his two other games, in which he’s gone for at least 114 yards receiving. Last week against the Eagles, he should’ve had even more than 128 yards, but Carson Wentz wildly underthrew him on the sideline that would’ve been a walk-in score for the Vikings if it was thrown with any sort of lead.
Given all this information about the beginnings of Jordan Addison’s 2025 campaign, how can he make you some money this week? Firstly, let me make it clear: I am not a gambling expert. In fact, I’m actually pretty bad at it. So there, don’t sue me.

I do, though, know a juicy-looking line when I see one, and that’s exactly how Jordan Addison’s receiving yardage line is looking. As of the writing of this article, his yardage over/under is set at 55.5 total receiving yards on DraftKings Sportsbook. Given his 66% success rate of eclipsing 100+ yards through the air, I’d say this line looks quite appetizing for the old bank account. What may make this a tricky thing to be on, however, is the Los Angeles Chargers’ pass defense.
Chargers’ Pass Defense is Among the Best, Though Addison Can Still Shine
The Vikings and Chargers have a similarly stout defense against quarterbacks attempting to dissect them through the air. Per NFL Pro, the Vikings allow 184 passing yards per game, which is 7th-best in the NFL. Eighth-best in the NFL just happens to be those Chargers, who allow 192.3 passing yards per game. It adds a little intimidation to the bet, yes, but this 7th-ranked Vikings passing defense did just allow 326 passing yards to Jalen Hurts and an Eagles passing offense that had been completely anemic in 2025 until they played the purple team.

Looking at last week for the Chargers, they themselves allowed three Colts’ receivers to gain more than 55 yards through the air:
- Alec Pierce (5 catches, 98 yards)
- Tyler Warren (4 catches, 69 yards, TD)
- Michael Pittman (7 catches, 58 yards, TD)
It seems likely that Jordan Addison would produce somewhere within this range of Colts receivers from a week ago, as Indianapolis doesn’t have a Justin Jefferson that the Chargers had to pay a ton of attention to defensively. It’s my opinion that could put some spending money in your pocket. Again, not an expert gambler here whatsoever, and I am not saying that you should no doubt put your hard-earned money on the line for this. I’m just saying that I probably will.
