Camryn Bynum was a cherished Viking for four seasons, but he’s now moving onto the second chapter of his career after landing some major money with the Colts.

The safety went to social media to pass along his feelings about his time in Minnesota. Safe to say that there’s plenty of affection for the Vikings and Minnesota more broadly. Bynum’s note includes a section for the coaches and staff, teammates, as well as the fans alongside the community. The defender is also outspoken about his faith, expressing his gratitude to Christ.

The plan in Minnesota is to move ahead with Theo Jackson, an in-house option who comes in at a fraction of the cost for Bynum.

To bring Bynum over to the AFC, the Colts sent over a contract that’s committing $60 million across four years. Jackson, in contrast, was kept in town on a three-year deal that’s coming up to a total compensation of just $9,315,000. Now, some incentives could push Jackson’s money higher, but that’s where things stand currently.

Camryn Bynum is thus a Colt, but he maintains strong feelings for the Minnesota Vikings.

The safety posted a photo with a simple “thank you” written in large letters before offering several paragraphs to express his feelings. To begin, Bynum writes that Minnesota is now “a place I can call home forever.” He seems to be genuinely flooded with gratitude: “I can truly say that I loved every moment and person I met along the way.”

Not long afterwards, Camryn Bynum explicitly shifts the focus to his coaches and teammates. His coaches get credit for “developing [him] as a person and a player” while his teammates will be his “brothers for life!”

Writing to fans and the people of Minnesota, the safety offered this thought: “After reflecting on my 4 years in Minnesota, my biggest prayer is that I was able to leave a lifelong impact on people. I pray that my joy on and off the field, my work ethic, and the way I loved others was able to point people to Jesus.”

Camryn Bynum, 26, is coming off a season where he picked up 96 tackles, 3 interceptions, 10 passes defended, 2 tackles for loss, and 2 fumble recoveries. He is tough and durable, starting in seventeen games across each of the last three seasons. In fact, he has eclipsed 1,000 defensive snaps in all three of those years.

Most commonly as a Viking, Bynum was asked to play center field. He soaked up 2,294 snaps as a free safety but also got dropped into the slot and into the box with some regularity.

The Vikings and Colts don’t play each other in the 2025 regular season. If something truly wild happens, though, they could see each other in the Super Bowl. Given the connections between the franchises in the current offseason, the outcome would qualify as must-see TV.

Curious fans can find the rest of Bynum’s thoughts within his social media post.
