The Minnesota Vikings ended 2023 on a sour note with a 33-10 loss at the hands of the Green Bay Packers.

It was reminiscent of their Week 17 game against the cheese heads last season, and with it, Minnesota’s playoff hopes hang by a thread going into the final week of the season. Here is a look at the Vikings snap counts on offense, defense, and special teams from the game.

Once again, the quarterback position proved to be a tricky puzzle for the Vikings to solve on Sunday night. Jaren Hall got the start, but after Minnesota fell to a 23-3 deficit at halftime, Kevin O’Connell pulled the plug on Hall and put Nick Mullens back in to finish the game.

Elsewhere on the offense, a major surprise to some may be the fact that Johnny Mundt got nearly twice as many snaps as Josh Oliver at the tight end position. Mundt was on the field for 41 snaps compared to Oliver’s 24 in the first game without T.J. Hockenson. This is something to keep an eye on heading into Week 18.

One of Minnesota’s most versatile players, Josh Metellus, saw a season-low five snaps with the special teams on Sunday night. He has progressively played less with the unit all season, sitting in the single-digits for snaps with the unit during four of the past five games.

Meanwhile, NaJee Thompson continues to prove his value with the group and made a couple huge plays in his 13 snaps. He forced a fumble of Samori Toure on a punt return, which set Minnesota up in the red zone for their only TD of the game.
