The View from VT: Endorsing the Unthinkable, Suspended QB, & Cousins’ 4-Team Race
Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.
The View from VT: March 2nd, 2024
1) ESPN Endorses the Unthinkable for Vikings: Not happening, folks. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah firmly extinguished the rumor while speaking to the media at the NFL Scouting Combine. The franchise is full-steam ahead when it comes to keeping Justin Jefferson in town for a long time. Expect a deal to get down.
2) Suspended QB Forecasted as Possible Vikings Solution: Oh, man, I just don’t see this one, folks. If there’s a need for a bridge option, why not just roll with the players who are already in house? Neither Nick Mullens nor Jaren Hall are perfect QBs, but each one does a great job preparing and each one has a brain in his head.
3) It’s Basically a 4-Team Race for Kirk Cousins’ Services: Seeing Kirk Cousins go anywhere other than a team with at least a small chance at a Lombardi would be stunning. Yes, the man wants a huge contract — or, at least, that’s been a priority — but he also wants to win. It’s very possible that the Vikings blend the best of both worlds as a team that has a shot to compete while also having some money to spend.
4) Turns Out, the Vikings Aren’t Doomed: Has a Vikings fan ever participated in some doom and gloom? Has the team ever given its fans a reason to do so? It’s fair to be skeptical about whether Minnesota will find success in the short term, but there’s also good reason to be fascinated about what the short term is going to offer. The roster genuinely offers some excellent young talent.
5) Did the Justin Jefferson Extension Just Clear its Final Hurdle: Increasing the cap space will help in the ongoing Jefferson extension saga. The receiver wants to be paid a pile of cash and the team’s leadership has even indicated that they’re very happy to pay him as the NFL’s top receiver. So while an extension isn’t necessarily going to arrive before free agency, a major financial domino has fallen.
Enjoy the extra reading, Vikings fans.
