The View from VT: Calling it Quits, Last-Minute Buzz, and The Best of Both Worlds
Vikings Territory works in partnership with PurplePTSD, similarly doing their utmost to put forth excellent Minnesota Vikings content. As a result, we promote what they have to offer in “The View from VT,” a weekly piece. Take a look at five of their articles from the past week.
The View from VT: April 28th, 2024
1) Once Popular Former Viking Calls it Quits: Definitely had a few solid moments while playing for the Vikings. The undersized underdog along the defensive line will now move ahead into whatever follows football. We wish him well.
2) Unpopular Vikings Draft Option Generating Last-Minute Buzz: The leadup to the draft always involves a ton of speculation and rumors. But while the J.J. McCarthy outcome was pretty easy to foresee, the move up for Dallas Turner was unexpected (in a good way).
3) Vikings Make 1st Roster Move in a Month: Definitely a dry period between the tail end of free agency and the beginning of the draft. Notably, the move wasn’t major. Instead, Minnesota opted to subtract a depth lineman.
4) Vikings Somehow Got Best of Both Worlds in the Draft: No doubt. Somehow walking away from the 1st with both a highly-regarded passer and a top-tier defender is nice work from the Vikings’ GM. Both players could be franchise cornerstones for years to come.
5) Vikings Have Reportedly Attempted to Trade Up: A move up the board wasn’t difficult to see coming. What about a double dose? In the end, Adofo-Mensah traded up twice. After that effort, the Vikings walked away with a new quarterback and a new edge rusher.
