The View from VT: September 14th, 2024
1) Vikings Re-Sign Promising Wide Receiver: Jeshaun Jones was among the UDFA adds following the 2024 NFL Draft. No doubt, there’s talent present, but the road ahead will be difficult. The Vikings have a half dozen receivers on the roster, so there’s still quite a few roadblocks ahead. The hope is simply that he’ll continue working toward fulfilling his potential.
2) Vikings Re-Sign Beloved Defender: Harrison Phillips has been one of the best decisions of the Kwesi Adofo-Mensah era. The DT1 got onboarded very early in the GM’s tenure and the deal has more than paid off. Not only has Phillips been the monster in the middle, but he has also been excellent off the field. Great decision keeping him around.
3) 12 Snap Reactions after Vikings at Giants: Safe to say the Week 1 effort was welcome far and wide in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. The Vikings were fully in control of the game, leading to a 28-6 victory and a bit of a statement that Minnesota is a decent bit better than the league’s worst teams. Can they hang with San Francisco in Week 2?
4) Former Vikings RB Promoted in Carolina: A really explosive runner. Quite often, Mike Boone looks like he has been shot out of a cannon when the football gets tucked into his arms. Ideally, the veteran can hang around the active roster and put together a really nice season for an underwhelming Panthers team.
5) Bleacher Report Recommends New Free Agent for Vikings: The free agent chatter never fully dies. And, in fairness, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is an ideas guy. The GM isn’t afraid to explore all kinds of different scenarios as he seeks to improve his squad. Safe to say he knows what his options are when it comes to who is available.
