Another week of the NFL offseason has come and gone, and more Vikings headlines need to be unpacked.

The Vikings saw more changes to their roster this week, and they’ve continued to solidify their draft evaluation by meeting with more prospects. Here is a look at all the purple headlines of the past week that you may have missed.

Greg Joseph Heads to Green Bay

The Minnesota Vikings will officially need a new kicker in 2024 after Greg Joseph decided to sign with the Green Bay Packers for this season. Joseph joined the Vikings back in 2021 and spent three seasons in Minnesota, making 83 of his 101 field goal attempts as well as 112 of his 124 extra points.

Luckily, the Vikings may have seen this move coming. They signed former XFLer John Parker Romo earlier in the free agency period, giving them a backup option in case Joseph headed elsewhere. Indeed, he has, and Romo is now in line to be the kicker for the Vikings if they do not bring in any more competition.

A Dalvin Cook, Mike Zimmer Reunion Brewing?

Dalvin Cook was selected in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Vikings, which happened to be Mike Zimmer’s fourth draft as the head coach. He played five seasons under Zimmer before the team decided to fire both the head coach and general manager Rick Spielman following the 2021 season. Now, a reunion between the two of them could be in store.

Michael Gehklen, a Cowboys beat writer for The Dallas Morning Newswrote this week, “Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook are two veteran options who stand to draw strong club consideration as free agency progresses. Elliott spent seven seasons in Dallas from 2016-22. Cook would reunite with Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, his head coach on the Minnesota Vikings from 2017-21.”

The 2024 NFL Draft is officially less than a month away, and we are in the midst of teams getting final glimpses at prospects before the event.

One way to do exactly that is through pro days and individual visits with the players that could soon join their rosters. With LSU’s pro day taking place on Wednesday, the Minnesota Vikings got a chance to take a look at QB prospect Jayden Daniels, and after the pro day, they had a meeting scheduled with the flamethrowing quarterback.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network tweeted, “Immediately following his Pro Day, #LSU QB and potential Top 3 pick Jayden Daniels is scheduled to meet with the #Patriots, #Commanders, #Giants, #Vikings, #Broncos and #Raiders, per his agent Ron Butler. Daniels has not previously met with any teams.”
