The Full 2024 Minnesota Vikings Schedule
The 2024 Minnesota Vikings schedule is officially here.
After a disappointing 2023 campaign that saw the team unable to replicate its success from 2022, the roster saw a number of massive changes with new, young faces set to lead the group into 2024. Here is a look at everything you need to know about this year’s Vikings schedule.
The 2024 Minnesota Vikings Schedule
First and foremost, this is how the 18-week regular season will shake out for the Vikings:
- Week 1 — at New York Giants
- Week 2 — vs. San Francisco 49ers
- Week 3 — vs. Houston Texans
- Week 4 — at Green Bay Packers
- Week 5 — vs. New York Jets (London)
- Week 6 — Bye
- Week 7 — vs. Detroit Lions
- Week 8 — at Los Angeles Rams (TNF)
- Week 9 — vs. Indianapolis Colts
- Week 10 — at Jacksonville Jaguars
- Week 11 — at Tennessee Titans
- Week 12 — at Chicago Bears
- Week 13 — vs. Arizona Cardinals
- Week 14 — vs. Atlanta Falcons
- Week 15 — vs. Chicago Bears (MNF)
- Week 16 — at Seattle Seahawks
- Week 17 — vs. Green Bay Packers
- Week 18 — at Detroit Lions
Of course, the Vikings get things started with a revenge game against the New York Giants, who knocked them out of the playoffs during the 2022 season. In 2023, neither team was able to get back to playoff form as New York went 6-11, and Minnesota went 7-10.
After that, the Vikings have a brutal stretch from about Weeks 2-8 in which they will play five playoff teams from a season ago. The only team in that stretch that didn’t make the playoffs last year is the New York Jets, but they presumably will have a healthy Aaron Rodgers for that Week 5 game in London.
The Vikings do have their bye week during Week 6, so that will break up the most brutal part of their schedule a little bit more heading into the middle portion of the season.
Things don’t get a ton easier immediately after Week 8 though as Minnesota’s Week 10 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars kicks off a three-week stretch of entirely road games without another game taking place at U.S. Bank Stadium until Week 13.
Then, the highly anticipated Kirk Cousins return to Minnesota will take place in Week 14, which will be a noon kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium. By then, perhaps J.J. McCarthy will fully hold down the reins of the QB1 job and get an opportunity to go against his predecessor.
Similarly to last year, the Vikings will finish the season with three games against NFC North opponents in the final four weeks, including a road game against the Detroit Lions to cap off the regular season. Could it be a battle for the division between the two most recent champions?
Everything all kicks off for the Vikings on Sunday, September 8th.
