Over the years, the sports universe has not been kind to the residents of Minnesota.

Vikings fans know all too well the feeling of playoff heartbreak as the franchise has appeared in four Super Bowls without a title and has fallen in six other conference championship games.

However, a new glimmer of hope has arrived for Minnesota sports fans. In the NBA playoffs, the Minnesota Timberwolves completed an epic 20-point comeback in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the defending champion Denver Nuggets on Sunday evening, thus advancing to the Western Conference Finals for just the second time in franchise history (2003-04).

Following the victory, many Vikings players took to social media in order to celebrate the success of the Timberwolves.

First, the Minnesota Vikings’ official Twitter account posted a few celebratory wolf emojis following the victory.

Two-time Pro Bowl fullback C.J. Ham followed up with the same.

Meanwhile, Jordan Addison had a prediction from a few days earlier that came to fruition.

The Wolves took a 2-0 lead in the series by winning the first two games in Denver. However, they proceeded to lose each of the next three games (Games 3-4 at home, Game 5 in Denver), and they needed to win each of the final two games in order to complete a comeback in the series.

Minnesota steamrolled Denver in a 45-point victory at the Target Center with Addison in attendance, and then, their victory in Game 7 proved Addison’s prediction to be true.

Another star Vikings receiver, Justin Jefferson, very clearly was hyped to see the Wolves pull off this comeback win.

Vikings linebacker Brian Asamoah had one particular Wolves player on his mind from the victory: Naz Reid.

Reid put together 11 points, four rebounds, an assist, and a pair of blocks in Minnesota’s victory, and he came alive down the stretch of the fourth quarter with a couple massive plays as the Wolves pulled away for the victory, including eight of his points and both blocked shots.

Now, the Wolves will take on the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals to try and clinch their first NBA Finals berth in franchise history. The Mavericks, led by Luka Doncic, have not made the NBA Finals since they won their first championship back in 2011.

The series will get started on Wednesday, May 22nd inside of the Target Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM Central.
