Injury Report Week 15 ‒ Bears at Vikings

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis (8) is tackled by Minnesota Vikings linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (43) during the first quarter at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024.

It has been a minute, but the Vikings are finally going to a game that is healthier than the other team. Ahead of the second game against the Bears, only one player has an injury designation, and just four others appeared on the injury report this week. On the other hand, the Bears have five players with injury designations ahead of the game on Monday night.

The Vikings control their destiny regarding the NFC North and NFC’s top seed. With the Seahawks’ loss on Sunday Night Football, they’ve already clinched a playoff berth. Hopefully, this team can be as healthy as possible heading to crunch time in December/January.

As I said, the Bears will be without a few players. Three of the four players listed as “out” for the game are starters, and there’s a chance they’ll have to rely on their RB3 in the game.

Starting on their offensive line, C Ryan Bates and OT Braxton Jones are out with a concussion, same as backup running back Roschon Johnson. DT Gervon Dexter, who was a handful on the game in Chicago, is out with a knee injury. Bates will miss his third straight game with the concussion, and Johnson will miss his second.

Of those with injury designations, only RB D’Andre Swift has a chance to play. He was questionable last week with a quad injury and now is on the injury report with a groin one. Swift didn’t practice on Thursday and Friday before being limited on Saturday.

Minnesota Vikings Injuries

The Vikings injury report is as unpredictable as it can be. Last week, 11 players were dealing with some sort of injury, but this week, the number fell to five (not that I’m complaining).

After missing the game against the Falcons, CB Stephon Gilmore is listed as questionable. His only practice this week was as a limited participant on Saturday, and Kevin O’Connell said he should be a game-time decision.

O’Connell also gave an update on LB Ivan Pace, saying he’s ahead of schedule in his recovery and should be able to return as soon as he’s eligible (Week 17 against the Packers).

Also on the injury report were RB Aaron Jones (back), OLB Patrick Jones (knee), Andrew Van Ginkel (hip), and TE Josh Oliver (wrist/ankle). Oliver was a full participant all week, while the others were limited on Thursday and full the next two. As per usual, S Harrison Smith had a rest day.
