The Kelce brothers’ podcast, New Heights, recently launched a tournament-style bracket for the best team names in the NFL

The bracket includes all the teams in the league, and for the first two rounds, teams from the same division are matched up against each other. The New Heights’ page on X has been putting out polls for fans to vote on, and that’s how the winners are decided. The championship will conclude the same weekend as the 2024 Super Bowl.

Round One: Minnesota Vikings Beat Green Bay Packers

The Vikings beat the Packers in round one, in which the results weren’t available, likely due to a landslide in the Viking’s favor.

Round Two: Minnesota Vikings Beat Detroit Lions

In round two, Minnesota faced off against the Lions, winning by 60% with 36,067 votes. A surprising result given the intensity of Lions fans during their playoff run.

Round Three: Minnesota Vikings Beat Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In round three, Minnesota faced the Buccaneers. Fans showed up to the polls in force with this one, gaining 65% of the votes for a total of 65,273 votes. That amount is more than the round two matchup in its totality.

NFC: Philadelphia Eagles vs Minnesota Vikings

Vikings fans everywhere still have a bad taste in their mouth when remembering the last NFC matchup between these two teams. The Eagles won that one, gutting Vikings fans everywhere with a 38-7 dismantling of the Case Keenum Cinderella season. Fans would be remiss if they didn’t think the Eagles would pull this one out again, especially with the backing of the New Heights’ “92%ers”, the loyal following with a potent blend of Eagles and Chiefs fans.

Vikings Redemption

It was a close vote, with Minnesota securing 51.8% of the votes for a total of 39,797 votes. Despite the classic Minnesota “luck” being in play, the Vikings achieved some redemption in beating the Eagles in this NFC Championship of the best team names.

Minnesota now faces the Pittsburgh Steelers in the “Best Team Name Championship.” Fans are presented with another opportunity for redemption. The Vikings had previously lost to the Steelers in Super Bowl IX, thanks to Franco Harris carrying the offense and the Steelers being better prepared overall. Minnesota Vikings fans can rectify that game, even if just a little bit, by voting for the Vikings in the New Height’s “Best Team Name Championship” here when voting is available.

In conclusion, the Vikings have proven to have a strong and dedicated fan base, as evidenced by their victories in the New Heights Tournament. They have faced tough competition along the way, but the SKOL community managed to come out on top, earning a spot in the championship against the Steelers. With the support of their fans, the Vikings will have a chance to achieve redemption for their previous loss to the Steelers in the Super Bowl. It will be interesting to see how the championship plays out and which team name will ultimately be crowned the best in the NFL.
