Week 2 of the NFL season is officially behind us.

Now that we’ve seen a good sampling of NFL action, some may be curious to see how the Vikings statistical rankings compare to other teams across the league.

Today, we will be breaking down where the Vikings offense ranks as a whole, and where individual players stand in terms of their statistics. Shout out to Pro-Football-Reference, Pro Football Focus, and nfeloapp.com for the numbers that went into this article. Stay tuned for the defensive rankings later this afternoon.

Week 2 brought a very similar story to Week 1 for the Vikings. Minnesota racked up yards against the Eagles defense, maintaining a top-10 ranking in that department. However, four more fumbles means they are also at the top of the league in terms of turnovers.

Hopefully, that turns around in Week 3, and they are able to maintain their high-flying group to put more points on the board. A positive through the first two weeks comes in the penalties, or lack thereof. Minnesota’s offense has been a clean unit to begin the year, tying for the 3rd-fewest penalties in the league.

  • Rushing PFF Grade: 50.7 (30th)
  • Run Blocking PFF Grade: 55.0 (22nd)

As anyone could have guessed, the Vikings have had some major troubles moving the ball on the ground. They are last in carries, rushing yards, rushing first downs, and EPA per run. This is an area that must get better if the Vikings want to compete for the playoffs this year, but luckily, they are being buoyed by a fantastic passing offense that ranks among the top-12 in every metric.
