Week 10 of the NFL season has come and gone.

This past weekend, the Minnesota Vikings captured their fifth consecutive win by defeating the New Orleans Saints by a score of 27-19.

Today, we will be breaking down the Vikings statistical rankings on offense through Week 8 as a whole, and where individual players stand. Shout out to Pro-Football-ReferencePro Football Focus, and nfeloapp.com for the numbers that went into this article. Stay tuned for the defensive rankings later today as well.

NOTE: Individual PFF Grades are sorted to include players with at least 20% of the league leader’s number of dropbacks, carries, or targets. In addition, with many of the teams now having their bye weeks behind them, we’ll be transitioning towards per game numbers for the team statistics.

The Vikings didn’t have a great second half on Sunday from an offensive standpoint, but they’ve certainly gotten more consistent on that side of the ball during this winning streak. They are tied for the fifth-most points per game over the past three weeks (27.3), and they have begun to limit the turnovers that plagued them early in the year. As a result, the group as a whole has continued to creep closer to the top 10 in just about every category.

Passing Offense

  • Completions per Game: 26.7 (1st)
  • Pass Attempts per Game: 38.5 (4th)
  • Passing Yards per Game: 272.4 (3rd)

  • Yards per Carry: 3.7 (27th)
  • Rushing First Downs per Game: 4.5 (30th)
  • Rushing TDs per Game: 0.4 (T-27th)
  • Fumbles Lost per Game: 1.2 (31st)
  • Rushing PFF Grade: 68.5 (29th)
  • EPA/run: -0.18 (24th)

The presence of Josh Dobbs has been a revelation for the Vikings offense. Not only do they still rank among the best passing offenses in the league, but they are beginning to creep out of the basement in many rushing categories as well. Dobbs has carried 15 times for 110 yards and a pair of TDs. With 28 more rushing yards on Sunday night against Denver, he would hold the team’s second-highest rushing total this season.

However, the Vikings could be in an interesting position in Week 11. With Alexander Mattison leaving last weekend’s game due to a concussion, Ty Chandler took the helm as the RB1 against the Saints. The second-year back may need to hold that role against Denver as well if Mattison is forced to miss this game.
