The Minnesota Vikings now have a complete handful of consecutive victories after they won their fifth straight game by defeating the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Despite some extra stress during the second half, this was another huge win for the team as they continue to strengthen their position in the NFC playoff picture. They now hold a 1.5-game lead over the Buccaneers for the No. 7 seed.

With this weekend’s game now in the rearview mirror, here is a look at the Vikings snap counts for Week 10. The snap counts are courtesy of Pro Football Focus.

  • C Garrett Bradbury (73)

  • QB Josh Dobbs (73)

  • TE Johnny Mundt (16)
  • FB C.J. Ham (10)
  • WR N’Keal Harry (4)
  • RB Kene Nwangwu (3)
  • WR Trishton Jackson (2)

The Vikings went into Sunday’s contest without either of Justin Jefferson or K.J. Osborn, opening the door for other depth receivers to step up and take a bigger role in the offense. A great example of that was Jalen Nailor, who essentially served as the Vikings’ WR2 throughout the win over the Saints and playing 67 snaps.

With Alexander Mattison also going down due to a concussion, Ty Chandler got a chance to step up as the lead back in the offense throughout the second half. It looks like Chandler will maintain an RB1 role in Week 11 unless Mattison makes a swift comeback from his injury.

In addition to Mattison’s injury, Akayleb Evans and Jordan Hicks also left Sunday’s game with ailments. To replace Hicks, both Troy Dye and Ivan Pace got plenty of snaps at the linebacker spot. Pace’s 56 snaps were his most since Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the undrafted rookie should be in line to continue playing against Denver.

Meanwhile, Minnesota got productive snaps out of both Mekhi Blackmon and Andrew Booth to replace Evans. Blackmon recorded his first NFL interception while covering Chris Olave while Booth was not targeted and had a nice tackle in run defense.

For other rookies, Jaquelin Roy, Andre Carter, and Jay Ward also earned some playing time with the defense this past weekend.

Troy Dye and Ivan Pace were very busy on Sunday, playing double-digit snaps for both the defense and special teams. Overall, though, it was a pretty typical day for the special teams group. Fresh off a new contract to be on the active roster, Nick Vigil was again one of the more utilized players with the group as Brian Asamoah was out for another week with injury.

Another positive sign was NaJee Thompson getting back out there for double-digit snaps in consecutive games. The cornerback was inactive during both Weeks 7 and 8 against the Bears and 49ers, but it seems that he is back to full health and able to maintain his usual role as the punt gunner. Thompson had another tackle with the special teams on Sunday.
