Vikings Snap Counts for Week 9 at Atlanta

The Minnesota Vikings went into Atlanta and stole a road win over the Falcons on Sunday.
The victory ensured that Minnesota holds sole possession of the No. 7 seed in the NFC, and they moved within 1.5 games of Detroit for the NFC North lead with the Lions on their bye week.
It was a full team effort to get the win on Sunday and was encapsulated by a terrific game-winning drive from QB Josh Dobbs. Here is a look at the Vikings snap counts from their fourth consecutive victory.

The Minnesota Vikings had to make adjustments on the fly throughout Sunday’s win. Not only did they enter the game without Kirk Cousins, Christian Darrisaw, or Justin Jefferson, but they also lost Jaren Hall and K.J. Osborn early on in the game.
As a result, Josh Dobbs came in at QB and absolutely shined throughout the second half while Jordan Addison played nearly every snap. Trishton Jackson actually played the second-most snaps at receiver as well due to Osborn’s concussion. He finished the game with 53 snaps and recorded the two-point conversion which tied the game at 21.
Things could shake up again with Jefferson now eligible to return from IR this week, so it will be interesting to see which receivers get on the field against the Saints.

Brian Flores went deep into his bag this week mixing up lineups. There were 16 Vikings defenders who played double-digit snaps on Sunday, and it was a great team performance from the unit. They made things tough on the Falcons offense all afternoon, and when they were needed most, they came up with huge plays to help get the win.
Most promising was the fact that multiple rookies got on the field for plenty of snaps this weekend. Mekhi Blackmon has seen a growing role in the secondary while all of Ivan Pace, Andre Carter, and Jaquelin Roy got in and made an impact as well.

It was an unusually busy day for the Vikings special teams as well, meaning Matt Daniels also had to mix things up in terms of his lineups. Rookie safety Jay Ward earned extensive time with the unit, playing all 28 snaps alongside LB Troy Dye.
With players like Lewis Cine and Brian Asamoah sidelined again, it also opened the door for Nick Vigil and NaJee Thompson to get extended playing time with the group.
